KRC Genk Esports and ARAG focus partnership on more fair play in esports
KRC Genk Esports and legal expenses insurer ARAG will be working together for a year. The insurer’s logo will appear on the match shirt of the League of Legends and FIFA team of KRC Genk Esports. Both parties are taking advantage of this collaboration to put fair play in the world of esports on the agenda more than ever. ARAG is taking their first steps within esports in the Benelux.
Fair play is not a matter of course in the sports world. Unfortunately, this is no different in esports. To make the importance of fair play clear to the online community as well, the KRC Genk Esports team and insurer ARAG have joined forces for a year. “Fairplay, respect and courtesy are values that we at KRC Genk hold dear throughout the club,” says Bram Bartels,Esports coordinator at KRC Genk. “We also find these values in the philosophy and products of our new partner ARAG. With this new partnership, we hope to convey our shared values throughout the esports community.”
Fair play day
ARAG is an insurer that focuses on the human side of legal assistance. The norms and values on which the company is based go hand in hand with fair play. In addition to the activities in esports, KRC Genk will therefore organize a ‘Fairplay Day’ together with ARAG next season to put the importance of fairplay in the spotlight. During the match closest to September 7 (International Fair Play Day), fans will be able to vote for the fairest player and have a chance to win his match shirt.
First steps in esports Benelux
ARAG has a unique offer for gamers and wants to make it more accessible to young gamers through the collaboration with KRC Genk Esports. Consider, for example, legal assistance products that provide cover for risks resulting from internet use, such as phishing or cyberbullying. Mireille Urlus, CEO of ARAG Belgium: “We look forward to working with one of the leading esports brands. KRC Genk Esports offers us the opportunity to make ARAG and legal aid better known to a younger audience in an exciting environment, both in Belgium and in our international markets. We are currently working hard on one of our objectives, which is to be a Smart Insurer. By using technology to further improve our services, we want to prove that digital services also promote successful development in traditional business segments. We expect our collaboration with KRC Genk to play an important role in learning in this dynamically growing field.”A baptism of fire awaits on Tuesday, when the League of Legends Team will play its first game of the season in the Elite Series against ‘The Agency’. The ARAG logo will then already show off on the right shoulder of the KRC Genk esporters.
